Article – Off-road touring in Australia with Diesel Care
When we think of off road touring in AUSTRALIA we think of some of the best off-road driving in the world, it is a road-tripper‘s dream.
In addition to the wide paved roads Australia has some of the most remote places to set off to with some friends or close family. All you need is a bit of trip preparation, a sense of adventure and a 4WD is a necessity.
One of the most memorable off-road adventures experienced by our team from Diesel Care has to be one through the Australian desert. For John Jamieson, our Tamworth branch Director it is a 4WD track called the Madigan Line. Only a handful of people each year complete this journey
simply because it is one of the most remote and most difficult crossings to undertake in the Simpson desert.

Trip preparation is most important when traveling through remote places such as the Madigan line, and we could write a whole article alone on what is required. However, In regards to preparing your vehicle for performance there is no doubt that having extra power from the STEINBAUER PowerModule made tackling the sand dunes a much easier task. John had his Toyota Hilux D-4D 3.0 L Turbo diesel reasonable loaded up and going through the desert sands, he found it to be much easier with STEINBAUER, “You just put your foot down, you’ve got all the torque you need and you go.”
The performance increase was questioned by some of the other travelers on the trip, including Australian pubic figure ‘Macca’ but he was soon convinced that it was the STEINBAUER which helped with getting through the tough terrain, “It is genuinely noticeable that it just holds there, it saved you from having to get out and dig quite a few times”.
