Well I've had enough time now to properly evaluate the chip that you installed in my '06 X5.

Just to set my credentials, I've spent a lifetime with engines, racecars and bikes - with all sorts of carbies - including the diabolical Weber DCOE's and more - and all without the benefit of dynos - I've had to tune and adjust for proper performance using "seat of the pants" evaluation principles.

I know my stuff.

I've had performance chips in many cars previously, and I must say, with various and sometimes disappointing results. But this chip from Steinbauer has absolutely TRANSFORMED my X5 !

It was never a slouch, but now its much more responsive, crisper and picks up power with just a slight touch of the throttle. I can hardly believe how much more enjoyable the vehicle is to drive now, and at what piddling cost!

It feels for all the world like we have installed high compression pistons, headers, and done a port and polish on a petrol engine! Is it true that we didn't spent $10,000 on the engine?

Even the gearchanges are smoother (different throttle valve position/power) and for goodness' sake, BETTER ECONOMY!

Thanks a million, tell everybody - it's a 20% improvement for 2% cost.
